Twice every summer Piteå fills up with visitors. A whole apartment with its own kitchen is then often both cheaper and more comfortable than several hotel rooms — especially for a group.
Piteå Summer Games
Piteå Summer Games is one of Sweden's largest youth football tournaments, with hundreds of teams from around the world. It is played the weekend after Midsummer on pitches in and around Piteå — and thanks to the midnight sun, matches run late into the evening. Exact dates and schedules are at piteasummergames.se.
Piteå Dansar och Ler (PDOL)
PDOL is Piteå's big town festival at the end of July, with concerts and a funfair in the centre — and free entry. Programme and dates are at pdol.se.

- Pite Havsbad beach resort: about 15 km, roughly 15 minutes by car.
